Lucerne will host the U21 World Championships from May 11-16, a year after the Swiss city hosted an FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour event for the first time with a mixed gender Open.

Larnaka will continue its proud history of organising age-group tournaments when it hosts the U19 World Championships from July 26-31.

Two years ago the Cypriot beach-side city hosted the U21 World Championships when Poland’s Michal Bryl and Kacper Kujawiak won the men’s title, while Canada’s Sophie Bukovec and Tia Miric claimed gold in the women’s competition.

In 2014 Brazil’s Eduarda Santos Lisboa won a second U19 gold, when she and Andressa Cavalcanti Ramalho topped the podium in Porto and there was further Brazilian success when Arthur Diego Mariano Lanci and George Souto Maior Wanderley won gold in the men’s competition.
